Parker Hale #9. Bisley Works

Picked up Parker Hale #9, recieiver tang sight. I'm a peep sight freak. I can't
find what rifle this is for. Looks to me it's for a muzzle loader or some kind of
Martini. Is the #9 a model of sight or # of a gun it fits? Anybody up on Parker
Hale stuff?

Lee Enfield

Parker Hale really only made parts for Enfields and Mausers, the #9 variants were fitted to Lee Enfields prior to WWI although it was marketed for SMLEs later on as well.

Did you pick up the adapter plate with it? Or just the sight assembly?

#9 Parker Hale

Jimro, I have looked at all#9s on line. Saw variations for B/A and Martini. Mine
is made as tang mount. 1 piece. It has to be for hammer less or side hammer.
I have the iris type aperture, and yellow glass filter. No means of using adapter.
Tang is about 1 3/4 long, small hole in front( approx for #8 screw ) lager hole
1/2" from it. Radiused on bottom to fit gun tang. The height wouldn't allow it
To be used on center hammer rifle. The only US guns I could think of are the
Savage 99 or Remington 14, 14 1/2.
Thanks for info.
