Best gun shop in Ohio?
I'm in Toledo OH, and can't find a shop that isn't way overpriced. I've never ordered off the web before, and was wondering if there was a shop that wasn't to far from Toledo that I could drive to.
Thanks, |

If shotguns are your thing, Dawson Enterprises in Massilon Ohio is a great place for reloading supplies. They also carry sporting shotguns as well as some field guns. Though they mostly cater to the clay shooting crowd(of which I'm a part )
For rifles and handguns I go to a local shop called Penn Station in New Philadelphia Ohio. They dont have the biggest selection in store but he can order anything you need at a good price and in only several days time. Also Penn Station is open on the weekends too.

Have you checked Cabela's in Dundee, MI? They might be high, but the store alone is worth a trip.

another decent sized shop is down in Ashland Ohio. Its called Fur, Feather and Fin(almost a mini Cabela's). Its a nice shop, they have guns, bows, and all sorts of outdoor gear.

There is a store in Struthers, Ohio a suburb of Youngstown...I think it is called the The Gun Shop or The Gun Store. This guy has wall-to-wall handguns and firearms of just about every gun imaginable.
I walked into the store one time and was amazed at the number of firearms this place had. Never saw so may guns all in one place. I will try to get the exact name and phone number and post sometime by tomorrow.

I gotta agree with Big Yac, I've bought my last 2 guns from Craig at Penn Station and he got both of them overnight and beat any price I could get from anyone local, he's worth checking out.

Vances
I agree that Vances has some good stuff from my experience. I used to go there constantly when I lived in Col. There was some old guy that sold surplus stuff on High street(?) years ago and he had racks of neat old guns and related. Forget his name. Not much going on in this neck of the woods for gunshops these days.

One word: Jaquas
It's in Findlay. The store as a whole caters to the high-end shotgunners, but they have a very good pistol and rifle selection as well. The owner of this store lengthened the runway at the Findlay airport so Roy Rogers could fly his Leer jet in to buy a shotgun there. VERY impressive store. www.jaquas.com -Parke1
