Nice MBR Chard! I also like the old Land Cruiser.

My M21A5 type SEI is almost rack grade...

Madcrate,

I HATE you when you post the picture of that M1A in wood. That is one of the finest I have ever seen.

Yeah I love shooting ithis one But I think my next purchase is going to be an AR in 308. I was just looking on YouTube at the Colt 901 looks pretty cool pretty pricy though.

I also need to get a GI issue sling for this one. They're around for pretty good prices
.

Scout squad bbl with composite stock (choose your favorite color- I'd get the OD green to match my Mini-14).

@Keg,

Woody...actually todays battle rifle would look more like SR420's pic.... I kinda like the different configurations tho....
It would look like that. But I don't have to like it!

There is just something elegant about the lines of standard M1A and M14. Even my wife says they are nice looking.

I guess I'm getting old. I've stopped carrying an AR-15 around the place and started carrying a Winchester 1894.

Maybe in 10 years I'll be carrying a Brown Bess?

Let the accessorizing begin!! Cleaning kit, special M1A/M14 tools, extra mags, stripper clips, lubriplate, extended magazine release, bipod mount, GI sling, and lots and lots of ammo.

I like the standard model. I have two of them, one wood one synthetic.

Cant go wrong with any of the lengths, in my opinion. It's really about what fits your build and shooting style.
I've grown into the pistol grips and shoot way better using them.

Came in today

It's a beaut! Now, what's the best mag for the money? $45 for a 20 round and $32 for a 10 seems steep, although it is SA.

+++++ on the CMI mags.

I think they make originals for Springfield. You can get some cheap knockoffs from CTD but if your experience with them is like mine, you will not like them.

This is where I got mine.

All my M1A mags are GI issue, never had a problem with any of them. In clearing my books when I retired from the guard, we threw away a whole foot locker full of new M14 mags, as the surplus people wouldnt take them. Kind of wished I kept them

Anyway this is what a M1A is suppose to look like.

I thought Fulton Arms made the best M1As. That is what they used to say...everything else was junk.

Damn Kraigwy, that M1A has been well used! That is one cool gun. I scrolled back and compared it to the other shiney guns posted here, and it looks like the only one that has had its' trigger pulled!

Bet you can knock the center out of a watermellon at 300 m with that thing!

I love it!

I bought that rifle new as a standard grade in 1977 for $295. I started shooting for the guard, and a couple years later Gene Barnett (Barnett Barrels, and at the time was armor for the NG MTU) converted it to a supper match.

I've shoot it quite a bit over the years, having to replace the shot out barrels and had some stretched out slings that had to be replaced. Other then that its held up quite well and still shoots today.
