Kimber Ultra loads

Did a search and came up empty handed....

When loading for the Kimber Ultra (45 ACP/3" barrel) what is the thinking...lighter bullets and fast burning powder for fast acceleration, or go with the heavier bullets, and just suffer the loss of ft/lbs of energy due to the shorter barrel.

I* bought some Speer Gold Dot 230gr loads for short barrel guns but have not chronograph them yet. Would rather load my own.
