Just Getting Started...

Hey all. So today I officially joined a gunfighter group who does staged "old west" gun fights here in central Texas (Burnet Gunfighers Inc). I am eyeing up a Cimarron 1860 Army to serve as my main blaster for the gun fights. This is my first black powder gun, so I am both very excited and pretty clueless. Any tips or suggestions you could give me would be very appreciated. Some specific questions: what's the difference between the Cimarron 1860 Army and the Uberti 1860 Army? I'll be firing a lot of blank loads through this -- any special considerations?

A good start would be to peruse the sticky "So you want a cap and ball revolver" at the top of the page. IIRC, your Cimarron 1860 Army may well be made by Uberti.

Oh thanks for the heads up on the sticky. I didn't think to look there first.
