Another question
Got my Pietta "London" last week and have had some fun. My question has to do with loading it. When the gun is at half cock should the rammer be perfectly lined up with the chamber you're loading? On mine, I have to fiddle with the cylinder to line everything up to seat wad and/or ball. Is this normal, the nature of the beast? Otherwise, at full cock timing seems perfect and tight, no line yet.
edit: just thought: or do you seat balls/wads at full cock each time? Seems like excessive wear could occur doing it this way. Last edited by Idaho Spud; December 2, 2012 at 10:22 PM. |

Yes, the nature of the beast - when the hammer is at half cock, the cylinder is free to rotate clockwise, and you need to line it up with the rammer.

Idaho - pretty soon that will become "second nature" to you. Good luck and enjoy!
