Guns in a TV advertisement (hope for ‘our’ side?)
Here in Minnesota a casino has an advertisement running on TV that shows a woman out deer hunting, in a tree stand with a rifle just like that’s a natural thing and nothing to be ashamed of at all!
She and her hunting buddies get bored and hungry so they head on over to the casino for some fun and food but absolutely NOTHING negative is said or implied about her having a rifle or hunting for deer. It gives one hope. Maybe the pendulum has swung farther toward ‘our’ side than I had realized. Anybody else see guns being portrayed in a neutral (like the above ad) or a positive light in the advertising or entertainment media? |

I still can't get over the fact that I occasionally see commercials for Henry rifles on Fox News. Albeit, it's Fox New it's still a step in the right direction.

Over the holidays someone told me there was a 'Big Bang Theory' episode where one of the guys took his girl to a pistol range on a date.
I'd say that's a positive gun reference however they said he wound up shooting himself so maybe not. Still, I'm very pleased to see guns once in a while being portrayed as something 'normal' folk might use for fun. |

Things are very much better than they were in the dark days 15-20 yrs ago. But let us always be on guard, also conduct ourselves as positive role models of the shooting sports.
