Do you size 223 Rem differently from 5.56 Nato?
Someone in another thread mentioned sizing the brass differenly so the neck was in a slightly different spot. I have never seen anyone else reference this, and have always loaded 223 and 5.56 exactly the same.
Opinions? |

I size them both the same way when loading them for my AR's. The only time I do any thing different is when I neck size only for my bolt action. 5.56 and 223 are essentually the same round but the 5.56 is loaded to higher pressure and the brass is thicker. I can't see why some would say they would need to be sized differently, but maybe I am wrong. Who knows?

My bad, I was in error. I'll go back and edit my answer.
Thanks for making me go check my facts. The exterior cartridge dimensions are the same for .223 and 5.56mm |

There are a few things you need to keep in mind when loading for any of the military gas operated semi autos and their clones.
