Ruger MKll VT
Is there any difference between the VT with the brown laminate stock and the new one with the grey/black laminated stock.

I believe the grey stock has an adjustable trigger, earlier models did not.

I thought the old ones had an adjustable too.

I don't think any of the MK-II's are adjustable. You'll have to go back to the tang safety version that was discontinued in the early 90's to get an adjustable trigger.
The Mk-II's were inconsistent, many were just fine, others needed work, but could be tweaked even though there were no adjustments. The new Hawkeye uses basically the same trigger, it is usually much better out of the box than the older MK-II's |

I have an older mkII in 22-250, it's not an adjustable trigger, a friend of mine bought one in 243 and I'm 75% sure it had an adjustable.

Found this in another forum
"I can't tell you about the bedding, but mine (in 22-250) has a good (not great) trigger. It is adjustable, and I've tinkered with it a little, but could not really feel much change. It is two stage and has a little creep and breaks at about 2 lbs. Right off the shelf mine will shoot 1/2" five shot groups with good handloads and shoots everything I've fed through it under 1"" |
