loadmaster users
Any Loadmaster users out there?I have a pro 1000,
I know a lot of you hate them but I like mine. Caliber changes are kind of a pain. What I would like to know is how are they on the Loadmaster and do you have any problems with the press? Thanks Bill |

I have only loaded on a loadmaster...
So I am not sure about how it compares, but...
I agree with absolom that the cases are best fed by hand. I load with a box of bullets and a box of cases. One in each hand, place them, then KA-Chunk! one in each hand, place them, KA-Chunk! Bullet each time. Primer system seems fine to me except that you do need to learn exactly how much pressure to put on the loading handle to get a good seat that isnt low or high. I've only loaded straight-walled cases so I don't know about bottle-necked cases... I do know that the one time I used my father's single-stage lee (dont know what kind) turret press it was HELL to load more than a few hundred rounds over a couple days. But I'm naturally lazy I went in halvsies on the loadmaster and I am glad we did! If you keep your caliber's set up on each turret a caliber change is a no-brainer, but it really works best if you have a seperate powder charger for each turret. Hope this helps! JT as usual, FWIW, IMHO, YMMV, and all that... |
