2 f powder in pistols

Old colt manuals say you can shoot 2f powder in 44 and 36 c C/b revolvers. Let's say Hodgens 2f---is it safe? I have never used anything but 3f whether Goex or pyrodex.

I use Pyrodex RS all the time. Is equivalent to 2F.

Perfectly safe, you just won't get quite as much velocity as with 3f.
