had some action first night in the woods!
Got to my stand about 4 hours before dark. About an hour later does started filtering into the cut corn field I was watching. After another hour or so passed, all their heads popped up and they scattered. I heard some movement and was hoping for a buck that might be curious of the does. Then out comes one of the biggest coyotes I've seen in a while. A lip squeak got him within 50 yards but he crossed the trail I walked in on and bolted. After that I figured my hunt was shot. 10 minutes later a nice 8 point about as wide as his ears and real tall stepped out. As luck would have it he walked right to my winter food plot that is set up for gun season about 120 yards out. All in all good to be in the woods and see some deer. I will keep you posted!

sounds pretty successful to me even though you didn't fill a tag. this morning was my first morning on stand this season, I saw a nice 8 much like the 1 you described but unfortunately he saw me draw my bow and didn't stick around.
