Limited Edition Springfield

Anyone know anything about this? Its a m968 45acp. 4 1/8th barrel, stainless made in Brazil serial 007xxc I got it used in feb of 1988 Had pachmeyer grips when i Got it still does. Are these the original grips? I had the Original box but Springfield Armory kept it when I sent it in to have the front sight fixed. Just curios about aproximate value etc. The story I got when I got it was Springfield made them for some countrys Airforce and they made Limited editions while they were at it. Any truth to that? Whoops to clarify "Limited Edition" is etched under the ejection port. Also its Stainless steel slide the frame may be an alloy? Black slide stop, hammer, back strap etc. I Looked on 1911.org and so far have found little info. Any help is greatly appretiated, thank you

My book says that model was introduced on the US commercial market in 1989, so you have a very early, apparently uncataloged issue. The picture I have shows plain wood grip panels, not Pachmayrs

But the "some country's airforce" and "limited editions" business does not ring a bell with me, and in the absence of national or unit markings, does not mean much.

I hope this post will stir up some more information, and a loose group of owners of this little known Springfield.
