FNG, hello... TCA Dimension in 22-250. And?
New to the forum, appreciate the extensive knowledge base found here, hope to take away some good info. Just picked up the new Thompson Center Arms Dimension, in 22-250. Can interchange 3 additional calibers without changing the bolt... my options are .243 (nope) and 7mm-08 Rem or .308 Win. Interesting choices, similar yet some distinct differences. A little leery of the .308 availability and future, since it's also 7.62 NATO. Thoughts, ideas? Appreciate any input... thanks in advance.

308 isn't going anywhere its an extremely popular caliber. Its used all over the world by military police and hunters. It can do almost anything from praire dogs to moose when loaded properly. Many people shoot it out to 1000yds with the right loads and equipment. If a ammo company makes centerfire rifle ammo you can guarantee they have atleast one loading in 308 and several companies offer match ammo for 308.

Get the .308. Ammo will always be around for this round. Gotta figure that it's a very popular/common cartridge. Not to mention if you decide to go big game hunting, I would use it from deer to moose. You won't regret it.
