Looking for a 3 gun bullseye range box

Anybody know where to get either new or used 3 gun bullseye shooters box? I have been watching ebay, and some boxes come up, but mostly 4 & 5 gun. I don't need anything that big, I'm just a beginner. I have found one 3 gun aluminum box, but it looked pretty cheezy.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Box

Check out Champions Choice (www.champchoice.com). They sell Strong brand boxes.

I've had dealings with that seller--good guy, and bumped down the shipping cost when he saw cheaper options (USPS wanted an arm and a leg, UPS wanted just the leg) and refunded me the difference.

I kinda wish I had waited for this one, though, because the box I got was a Gun Ho 5-gun model...which means I always feel that I can stick my three 2700 guns in there, plus my DR gun, plus another gun (currently a fun-gun in .44 Magnum)...and that gets a little heavy after a while =) A three- or four-gun box would be a bit smaller and better for my needs.

Range Boxes...

Mama Chay--Re: 3 gun range box: What ails putting only 3 guns into a 4- or 5-gun box? They're a little further apart, easier to get at, etc, etc. The 5 gun box isn't that much bigger than a 3 gunner, IMHO.

Also, there is that beginner factor you mention--What is there to prevent you from buying another gun later and wanting to haul 4 guns to the range? At that point the larger box would be really nice to already have.

As to looking cheesy--well, I shoot bullseye league, have seen hundreds of range boxes, and have yet to see one that looks exactly cool and classy. A range box is what it is, and it is NOT a Porche 911, for example. What I'm saying is, get a range box that does exactly what you want, and to heck with looks, or, for that matter, anybody else's opinion.

BTW, while you're at it, you'll find the inside-the-box spotting 'scope mount to be very useful, so you might want to pick one of those up if the box you buy doesn't come with one. And, of course, the 'scope that goes on the mount.

FWIW, I practice for league @ my local shooting club, and the usual reaction by non-bullseye shooters is, "Wow, is that ever a handy, good-idea box! Where can I get one??"

Come to think of it, my own range box has 4 slots, and I use it for my 3 bullseye guns. Never had any sort of problem as a result.

While I'm at it, welcome to TFL!

+1 Smokey Joe

I hardly know of anyone on my two Bullseye teams who doesn't wish they had a bit more room in their box. Most of us have the 4-gun variety and we typically carry only one gun in it. It's still crowded in there.

Go for the 4- or even 5-gun box. You won't be sorry.

I would highly recommend against getting a 3 gun box. You say you are a newbe, everyone is when they start but if you stick with it, you wont be.

I have a 4 gun, I need a 5 gun. You eventuly will start carrying a spare gun. You'll end up putting an aimpoint or something on your 45, but will want another 45 for EIC matches. Or you may end up having a 45 for the 45 Match and a Berreta 9 for leg matches.

Also the 4 & 5 gun cases are wider allowing more room for you gadgets (staplers, score books, ammo, mags, etc.

There isnt that much differance in price between the 3,4 & 5 gun boxes, but that price jumps when you have to buy another box.

I have that exact same type of box (Pachmayr) that I bought last year off E-Bay also. Hate to tell you I paid $27.00 plus $10.00 shipping. Re-felted the interior, took black shoe dye to the outside cover and it looks like it just came out of the wrapper. Hope you find what yo are looking for.
