fluted chambers

This is really two questions. Does anyone have any experience with the Spanish CETME .308 rifles. Also is brass fired from a fluted chamber, as the CETME, H&K G3's, 91's etc. reloadable. Or is one doomed to use only surplus ammo in these rifles.

Hello. I've fired 9mm in a P7 and reloaded it with no problems. Done the same thing with ammunition fired from the HK G3 battle rifle. No problems. It does seem likely that the striations on the cases would weaken them, but I've not seen it.

Best.

I will second the fluted chamber reloading. With my H&K P7 stable, all of the rounds are fluted (striated) but this has not been a problem for me to reload them.

I used to reload rounds from a HK91 I used to own, other than dirty difficlut to clean marks on the brass from the fluted chamber they weren't any more difficult to load and didn't have any unique problems than brass fired from a M1A.

I reload for my HK91 based precision semi.

THe striations are more scratches, or even score marks, than dents. While I'm sure that a scratched case won't last as long as an unscratched one, they are not dented by the chamber.

The case heads are going to give before the case wall ever does.

Thanks for the info. Looks like its mainly a cosmetic issue. Just used to that smooth shiny brass.
