1860 colt army kirst conversion

Hello. I'm doing a Kirst conversion on my Pietta 1860 Army B.P. pistol. Ive followed the template with my Dremel and It's looking fine so far. But the steel is now very thin at the insde rim on the frame This is the rim that goes around the outside of the cylinder pin and which the template fits around. Am I supposed to cut through this? All of the photos I have looked at do not show this very clearly. I will appreciate any help on this. Thanks, Steve.

Hello,

I have converted 2 piettas, 1860 and 1851, and indeed, it is quite intimidating to cut metal frame so near the cylinder pin but it is necessary .
to reassure you, just regularly present the Kirst gate toward the frame and it will show how much metal is still to be retrieved . Personaly, I did not use the paper template because it is difficult to glue it correctly.
