Looking for beta testers for a new reloading and gun management website

Hello everyone,

This is my first post on this forum and I wanted to let everyone know about a website that I've been working on called guntap. The website will be designed for all types of firearm owners, but especially reloaders as we have a lot of features that will help managing your load data a lot easier. We're not advertising our website since we're not ready yet, but rather looking for people to help us out with our upcoming private beta. So if you're interested, keep reading.

I was amazed at how little software exists for keeping track of your loads, inventory, firearms, target shooting history, gun manuals, calculators, etc... I, along with 2 other guys, have set out to design a website that will do all of this though the web. Our top priority is security and anonymity. The website does not require any personal information on your part, just a username and password (not even an e-mail).

However, if you choose to enter your personal firearms data to take advantage of our inventory and management capabilities, it will be encrypted to the highest standard and will be transmitted securely to our servers. You will be the only one that can view your sensitive data (we won't even be able to see it). But if you prefer not to enter this information, you will still be able to use other sections of the website.

Some things we plan on including are:
- A reference library with different loads compiled from various sources across the web, gun manuals, burn rate charts, cartridge dimension diagrams and measurements, various reference material, and more
- Different types of calculators for the various ballistics and trajectory formulas
- A reminder system to help you keep track of things such as cleaning schedules, upcoming events or competitions, charity events, etc...
- Target shooting history that allows you to enter your target results interactively (we're trying to make this even better by automating it using your phone's camera or a scanner)
- Inventory management that lets you see what you have in-stock and what kind of loads you can produce
- Load history management that will allow you to keep track of your various loads and how they performed, while linking them to your firearms and targets (if you so choose)
- And much more

In a few weeks (maybe sooner) we'll be ready for a private beta and we're looking for experienced loaders and firearms owners who will help us evaluate and test out the site. If you're interested in participating in our beta, please PM or e-mail us at [email protected].

After the beta, if everything goes smoothly, we'll open it to the public with free and paid subscriptions (the payment method will be anonymous as well). For the beta testers who take their time to help us out, we'll give you a little something at the end of the beta test as a way of saying thanks.

If you have any questions, feel free to reply, PM, or e-mail and we'll try to respond as quickly as possible.

Thanks,
Ray

(Please note: The current page we have up on our site that asks for an e-mail is only there to reach out to people who don't read this forum and people who have been referred by friends. The e-mails entered there will not be linked to our site or user accounts in any way.)

Private beta list filling up

I wanted to give a quick thanks to everyone that has responded and is willing to take time out of their day to help us test out guntap. Your suggestions and feedback will help us create the best website out there for firearm owners and reloaders!

As of this posting, we've filled roughly half of our private beta test slots. If you haven't contacted us yet and are willing to help out, please send a PM or e-mail to let us know. We'll add you to the list and in a few weeks, you'll be notified of our private beta launch.

If you have sent a PM or e-mail to [email protected] and haven't received a response yet, please send another PM/e-mail to make sure you're on the list.

Thanks again,
Ray

guntap update

I wanted to give everyone another update on the project so you guys didn't think we've forgotten about you. We're still working on the website and there are still quite a bit of features that we want to put in-place before we release the beta. We'll be sending out an e-mail and PMs in the next day or two giving beta testers an idea of when to expect the website to be accessible.

We're still getting new beta testers everyday and we're getting close to filling up the initial number of slots we had allocated. If you're interested, please PM or e-mail and we can add you to the list.

Thanks,
Ray
