Of course there is a future for the model 10. Everything you need in a handgun and nothing you don't need.

The fun part about shopping for a Model 10 used is that security companies still use this gun for their employees becuase it is practically stupid proof.
That means there will always be some security company taking some out of service and dropping them on the market for sale. I saw a big chunk of them in a local gun shops gun case for sale for under $250 some in like new condition. I wished I thought less and bought more because I'd have jumped on them. But I did'nt. That's o.k.-there will be more Model 10's out there in the future to buy cheap. I'm pretty sure of that. The reason I did'nt buy one is that I already have one. It was a Baltimore City Policeman's handgun ( stamped on the back strap) and it shoots like smooth glass. A very easy gun to shoot well. My day at the range can be going all bad and I pull out that sweetheart and it's all touching holes. And me smiling big time. |

S&W model 10
I've had one for forty years and with all the guns i have bought and sold it is one that has never crossed my mind to sell. It is hidden away within three feet of me each night. Not counting the one i have on the lamp table.
