Thanks folks! My first one was easy!
I hate to say it but I finally stripped a scope base screw! It was on my Remington 5R to boot, and I was nervous about messing things up trying to remove it. Anyway, thanks to the advice I gleened from this forum I tried a small flat head bit first with no success. I then took a deep breath and drilled it out starting with a 9/64 bit, working up to 3/16.
After about a minute the base popped off and the screw shank came out ez breezy!! |
