Question of bullet Dia.

I'm looking at some cast .45 loads. A lot of data I find is for a .452 dia. I have some at .451 dia. Could I use the .452 data?

Sure, given two bullets that are otherwise identical, except one is .452" and the other is .451", any load that's safe with the .452" bullet will be safe with the .451" bullet. I underlined "otherwise identical" because if the two differently sized bullets were of completely different styles, that could change things up significantly.

You might have to watch out for leading with the smaller diameter bullet though, depending on your bore diameter.

Thank you. Both are same weight and style.

It depends on your exact groove diameter, but don't be surprised if the .452 proves more accurate and leads less than the .451. A little squeeze-down for gas seal is a good thing with cast bullets.

It depends on what size your barrel 'likes'.
I use sizes from .4505" up to .4535".
They all pretty much shoot better than me......

like the guys mentioned before it depends on what diameter the barrel is. have you slugged the barrel yet? if its 45 acp the dia is probally going to be .450 which .451 inch bullets are used.

some are different slugging the barrel would be a good idea for accuracy purpose.

lead balls (lube first)

I only 'slug' if accuracy is elusive; otherwise I simply test different bullets to confirm what my barrel likes best.
I gotta lotta bullets, and....

....I ain't that good......
