can anyone tell me how to date a merkel side by side shotgun.

Ask it to strip down

(disassemble the bbls from the frame), so you can eyeball the marks/stampings in the barrel bottoms, bbl flats & action flats for the date stamp Big_D referred to.

cant seem to find those numbers its a strange gun it is a double trigger which fires the left choke barrel with the front trigger it is a system used for driven grouse sometimes.

Post pics of the underside of the barrel and the water table (the action part under the barrels) and any other markings you find
