Glock for a Wilson Combat!!!!

Now I know the black gun craziness has reached new levels.

A coworker listed his Glock 19 with a couple 33rd mags on a popular gunsite. A guy contacts him that he's got a Wilson Combat he'll trade even up for the Glock!
Coworker says he really has no interest in 1911's so I offer to buy it from him for $1100 if everything checks out. They exchange pictures, we get the serial number checked and they meet and trade.
Coworker ends up with $1100 for a Glock 19 and I get a Wilson Combat for $1100.

And the guy who traded the WC... he didn't like the full size gun and low round capacity...

Well, the gun wasn't perfect.
It's an older model, it was filthy, no lube anywhere, missing grips and grip screws and although you can't see it there are a lot of handling marks on it.
That said, it was still an incredible deal.
The guy who traded it knew it was worth more but he really, really wanted a Glock 19 (which are hard to find right now) and the 33 rds mags go for big bucks.

I would of traded my G19 for that. No questions about it. Congrats on the deal.

Your co-worker did very well also. A G19 & a few 33 round mags for $1100. I'd make that deal every day of the week ...except today. It is Obama's inauguration day. It would just be rude to buy or sell a gun without a federal background check while he is being sworn in. I couldn't do that and have a clear conscience afterward.

What a bunch of goofballs! Really?

A glock of just about any model is a $500-$650 gun anyway you look at it?

Tell that guy if he has anymore high end 1911's laying around I have a glock for trade! LOL

By the way congrats on a great deal.

You got the best of that deal by far. A Wilson Combat for a Glock is a steal any day.

I will give you $1200 for it. You could turn an easy $100 profit right now.

Wilson sells their slides and frames at brownells, do you know if it is Wilson parts or a gun made at Wilson's? I don't recognize the rear sight, but I'm not a Wilson aficionado so it may be standard. Either way I think you got a good deal, how good a deal is dependent on the smith. Which model is it?

It's a "Protector" with a WC serial number so it came from WC.

I'll trade you my Glock 26 for it. Comes with 3 mags.

Yeah, I realize I'd be giving up a carry gun, but we all have to make sacrifices.

Very nice trades all around. What a great way to rescue a Wilson Combat from an unloving home! Great buy to start off 2013.

Nice...really nice. What else is there to say? Darn those low capacity, large, heavy 1911's?

Dang, maybe I should list my glocks in exchange for some 1911's. I can still find Glocks new for $550.

You were just in the right place at the right time....congratulations !

I have a Wilson Protector - all stainless 5" in 9mm ...that has been a great gun. I'm sure you know that Wilson can clean that gun up for you - if the handling marks aggravate you....for a fairly small investment. The gun itself is warrantied for the life of the gun...

These targets were fired from 20 yards. The left one is 10 shots, the right is 5 shots. One flyer on both.
I'm happy.

I actually considered that, but the marks don't bother me... yet.
