BLC(2) Questions
I have a 7.5x55 swiss and a .223 Bushmaster AR-15. I was able to find a load of BLC(2) powder in stock so I couldnt resist purchasing. On Hodgdon's website it says BLC(2) works in both calibers. What would be the drawback of using this over say H4895 or something?
I'm new to reloading so I don't 100% understand how different powders can vary much. I am by no means looking to get match rounds. Just looking to have fun. |

nothing! I buy BLC in 8lb kegs and about 80 lbs at a time. Flows real well and is a joy to use. I think it is the most verstal powder on the market. I ve used it in .17 to 458. it is an exclent 223, 30-30, 270, 30-06, 308, 7mm08, 7X57, and 7.5x55, is great in 243. In the high tempature of Arizona an IMR powder is a little more stable. but I had to use a pressure gun to see the diffrence. start with 42 grains for the 7X55 a 175 grain bullet should give you around 2,600 fps and resenable pressure and start at 22 grains for the 223 youll do fine. |

BLC-2 and W-748 are a lot alike and are great in the .308 Win.
