S&W barrel wanted
A friend is looking for a 4" or longer .38 cal S&W barrel that will fit, or can be fitted to a 1905 model. It is thought to be a 4th change model, but research is not complete yet.
Friend got the gun cheap because Bubba had been at the barrel, hacksawing it off at about 3" and bent out of round in a vice. He wants to be able to shoot it, (the rest of the gun is in pretty good shape) and isn't trying to restore it, unless you happen to have the right barrel?? Any of the "pencil" barrels should fit or be able to be fitted, I think. None of the usual sources have any, so I'm asking here if you know where one can be found?

I was able to find a NOS 5" 38 S&W parkerized barrel on ebay last month for $25. It has a smidgen of surface rust but otherwise appears to be in good condition. The same seller had a couple for sale, but they all appear to be gone now.
The link below is from the same seller but blued for $39 http://www.ebay.com/itm/WWII-Smith-W...YAAOSwu4BVlaLS |
