How far is too far?

OK, I found all sorts of goodies for my XDM .40 on the pistolgear.com site. I am definitely getting the tungsten guide rod. But I also found the kit to reduce trigger pull by "2 lbs. +". Even if this is accurately claimed, has anyone out there done this? Is it too much of a hair trigger? I am undecided on the trigger weight kit, but I wanted some input first. Has anyone bought from this site? If they have, how is the quality? Let me know please. Thanks.

Lbs

Is that reduce the trigger pull "by" two pounds or "to" 2lbs?
The lowest that I would go on a carry/combat gun is four pounds.

If it does do what they say, as long as you do your job, it will do it's job. Finger off trigger when pulling it out.

That's kind of funny how that sounds!

The site says it reduces trigger pull by 2 lbs. I am still debating the usefullness of doing a trigger job on the pistol. But I am hoping someone out there has done this to thiers, or used these products. I would be really ****** if I spent $80 on factory springs. They do have a new trigger rod that reduces trigger travel by 50%.

I haven't used that company's kit, but I bought and put on my XD45 a complete trigger kit which included replacing the sear, trigger spring, sear spring, and also had a bar to minimize over travel. I would do it again in a heartbeat. The stock pull on my XD was pretty close to 6lbs, and now I would say it is just under 4lbs and I absolutely love it. It really is a personal preference thing though. The good news is that with those types of trigger kits, you can manually adjust the pull weight by only using certain parts. For instance, if I wanted to increase my trigger pull, I can swap in the factory trigger spring or the sear spring. I bought my kit from powderriverprecision.com and I HIGHLY recommend them. Call them up and ask any questions you have, I certainly asked quite a few and they were very knowledgeable and helpful.

thanks shenlon, that is the kind of response I was looking for. I will check out the site you mentioned. I am looking up the factory specs for the XDM .40 I have. They should be pretty close to yours. I want to thank everyone else who responded too. I will let you guys know when I get the parts and install them.
