Sig P226 SRT Trigger

Hi -

Wanted to share my experience with installing a SRT trigger in my P226 Navy. I have a 2 year old Navy that is a great shooter, however the trigger was a bit sloppy. I purchased a Sig SRT trigger kit from Midway and by following a couple of Youtube video was able to install in about 45 minutes. Only required a small punch to get the sear? pin out.

The results are of awesome! I found the gun to shoot much more accurate with a shorter travel and cleaner break. It will take some getting used to as I inadvertently "double tap'd" the trigger. (btw did the same thing with PPQ at first) I also have a Sig 239 with SRT trigger and the feeling is identical between the two guns.

Very nice. I bought a P229 a few months back and I'm loving the SRT. I would like to install one on my P225 but I cant find a "kit" to do it. Sig will install a SRT on a P225 but I heard they dont sell the kit to do so myself. Weird.

definitely takes some getting used to, but the results are amazing.

I have the SRT from the factory on my P226 e2 and I have the normal trigger from SIG on my second gen P220. You notice a huge difference right off the bat. Might even get one for the P220.

So these SRT trigger kits can be installed at home? I have a 2 year old 226 Navy also, but definitely wouldn't call my trigger sloppy. I consider it one of the best stock triggers I have ever felt actually. But, I've kicked around the idea of an SRT I just didn't know that maybe I can do it myself.

I can do it. Personally. I don't know if you can.

Check first to see if you can. It'll require a complete disassemble, pretty much.

A relatively easy and well worth it upgrade. One of the best things to come out of SIG in recent memory.

I used the below video and googled a parts diagram. In the video he also replaces the trigger which is not required.

All that said if your uncomfortable, a box for .45 ACP is a great price.

Yeah. Trigger isn't needed. But it's nice. For example when I get it for my P220 (I haven't decided if it really needs it might just change the mainspring) I won't change the trigger. I like the serrations it has in it. My P226 e2 does not have that.

Lol not bad huh? Just for the love of SIG.
