Front Sight Dovetail Dimensions on Thompson Center Hawkens (et al)

I'm seeing two figures thrown out: 3/8 (0.375"), and TrackoftheWolf
"TC"-designated part numbered sights bases as 0.371".

Within the range of normal file-fitting, which is correct ?
(or does it really matter?)

Those cast sights can vary dramatically, but for the most part you'll find them a little large for the dovetail and can be fitted. I have rarely seen one that was slightly smaller than the dovetail and with a little judicious peening of the dovetail they will fit snugly. I've used both the TC and Track sights, with no problems.
