Lightening The Trigger Pull

How Complicated Is It To Lighten Up The Trigger Pull On The Rear Trigger Over/under Break Barrel Gun? I Can Disasemble And Assemble The Gun Just Fine But Am Unsure Of How To Do Any Mods. Have A Shop And Tools So I Like To Do Everything Myself. Thanks For Any Input.

Ive Heard Of People Screwing It Up Trying To Mod It And It Ends Up Making The Gun A Hazard Because It Can Go Off With Out Warning. Is This Why You Say To Leave It Alone? Do You Recommend A Gun Smith Or Just Leave It Alone Completely? Thanks Again For The Input.

You can get a product called moly lube which is a metal treatment that is easily done at home.

Without modifying anything you can make the trigger group considerably slicker.

I have used this product on all of my keeper guns. I have a Browning HP in stock form. After the treatment it went from a gritty pull to a pull that is smooth as glass giving a much lighter feel to it. I left the mag safety in it and treated the face of the mag and the mag safety plunger. You would not know it is there.

Works great on rifles and revolvers too.

It never hurts to consult with a smith who is known for working on your particular firearm.

You can give the moly lube a try without fear of ruining anything.

You are shooting a shotgun which should not have a Trigger Pull like a rifle. Most shotguns come with a TP that very easy to pull the way it is designed to be pulled. You shouldn't be trying to squeeze the trigger when using a shotgun, but pulling the trigger to make sure you fire it at the right moment. That means the 5-8lb pull is just fine because you aren't finessing the trigger like you would if you were target shooting or hunting with a rifle, but actually giving it a strong pull or yank.
