SKS - Trigger Safety

Hoping someone has encountered this before; following disassembly / reassembly of Yugu SKS M59/66A1, I can't release the trigger safety.

I've repeated disassembly to inspect trigger group / magazine, and all appears ok.

No other problems with reassembly.

Just cannot release trigger safety . . .

All suggestions appreciated!

Probably in the wrong position when you reassembled the trigger group. A little fuzzy on how it's done, but I remember the safety had to be either on or off when pulling it apart.

SKS - Trigger Safety

The instructions I have indicate the Safety is to be ON and hammer cocked when the trigger group assembly is removed, and remains in this configuration when re-assembled.

I have attempted with the Safety both ON and OFF, however.

The root-cause of the problem appears to be the Trigger Safety impinging on the Trigger Group lock-pin (the one which is depressed to remove the trigger group).

Has anyone encountered this before?
