Do you load 7.62x25?

I bought one of the surplus Yugo 57s but was less than pleased with my load.
I had some loaded for my Broomhandle, they were 5.5 grns of Bullseye and
according to most of the info I could find it was actually a little too hot but
I decided to give it a try. Most didn't cycle the action and I got a lot of jams.
I had some old surplus ammo and it worked much better and definitely felt
much stronger. Anybody have any suggestions? (it was an 86 grn bullet)

The 30 Mauser (Broomhandle) round is much weaker than the 7.62x25. You cannot use the 7.62 in a broomhandle! So if you reloaded these to 30 Mauser specs that may be the reason for the poor cycling problem.

JOE is correct, there is a pretty major pressure difference even in 7.62 X 25 depending on if they were designed for SMG's or regular semi auto guns, the 30 Mauser is much lower pressure than either 7.62 load... I have a CZ 52 I load for... even have form dies to use 223 cases... though I don't remember any of my loads off the top of my head, because I don't shoot the '52 much, & it's been several years since the 7.62 X 25 has been at the top of the long reload list

If you read the reloading books available around May 2000, you would get the impression that the order of strength of pistols that will chamber 7.62x25mm or 30 Mauser is:

1) CZ52
2) Tokarev T33
3) Broom handle C96

Based on my measuring metal thickness, destructive tests, and measuring metal hardness, I believe the real hierarchy is:

1) Tokarev T33
2) Broom handle C96
3) CZ52

I would like to think that my posting all over the internet would straighten this out, but the result seems to be that the published loads of 2010 are now so wimpy that one size fits all.

I reloaded for my CZ-52. Starline brass, 110gr rnfmj (carbine bullet) and 5gr of IMR 700X. This load worked great for me. Cycled everytime. I don`t know what the rate is. I did not have a cronograph at the time. The CZ-52 has a heavy recoil spring. The military ammo is for a submachine gun and has a rate of 1600fps. It seems too hot for a hand gun. I didn`t like shooting it much. I wanted to use a heavyer bullet than the 86gr military. I also reloaded it with 110gr RNL. It worked quite well. I was in the bulls eye at 40yrds.
