RL 19 or RL 22 in a 6.5x55

Which powder for 129 grain Hornady bullets for a 6.5x55 Tikka?

Other choices besides those two..........

Any loads working for you all with this bullet? Or recommendations?

For the 129 gr bullet, I would use Reloader 19. Using a really slow powder like Reloader 22 might not give the best accuracy with that light of a bullet. But then again, it might work great, you will only know for sure by loading some and trying it.

Try 47 grains of RL22, load to exact book OAL. Use quality brass.

QuickLOAD says Reloader 19 will give slightly better performance than Reloader 22, until you go to compressed loads. That is with the bullets seated to their cannelure, or 3.035" COL. Vihtvuori N560 has the greatest velocity potential, according to that program.

Quickload hasn't shot enough 6.5x55 to go through 5 pounds each of RL22 and RL19 with every 6.5 bullet presently made, and some that ain't.

RL19 sucks in every 6.5x55 load I have ever tried. In 8 different rifles including a Blaser LRS2

RL22 shines. VN 560 is equally as good, but expensive
