What's once fired brass going for??
What are the ball parks prices for the following sizes: 9mm, .40, .45, and .223.
From what I gathered: 9mm - $10 for 100 .40 - $15 for 100 .45 - $15 for 100 .223 - ?? Any help would be nice. |

Where did you gather those? I can buy fully processed 9mm brass from a major vendor for $110/1000 or processed and primed for $150/1000. Can you say, "PRIMERS!"
If you're going to buy brass, buy in 1000 piece lots. If you're going to sell them, sell in 100 piece lots. I can get locally, 25/32 2.00/100 9/40 2.50/100 45GAP/357SIG 5.50/100 Price drops for 1000 pieces. |

Heck I was selling brass a while back and I only charged $35 shipped for 1k of 9mm and my brass was the cleanest you could find anywhere.
I would charge a bit more now but nowhere near those prices. Only if I could get brass from my range. Lost it to recycling.

Yeah those prices are just ludicrous. I'm not sure who told you those, but they were way off.
9mm seems to bring around $30 per 1000 or $3 per 100. .40S&W seems to bring around $40 per 1000 or $4 per 100. I haven't seen either bring much more, but I have seen them for sale for less. Right now I've seen some .45 with large primer pockets going for $80-90 for 1000, but that's with the panic, it normally doesn't bring that. $50-60 is normally what I see it listed for sale for. |

Their the going rates on gun broker. I tried to find the most relevant threads to what I have to base the prices...
Edit* I was looking at threads only selling 100 or 200 rounds, not bulk for sale prices, maybe that's what threw me off? What's .223 going for? I have 700 clean tumbled pieces, mixed stamped and a buddy offered me $70... I thought it was a little low but I haven't responded yet... |

Check the "buy, sell and trade" ads here. I just sold 545 pieces of .223 to discoracing for $45 shipped. We're not here to rip each other off, and if you stick around and contribute you meet some really fine and knowledgeable people here. How much is that worth?

Yea I don't want to rip my friend off, so that's why I asked.
So "around" $10 per 100 rounds for .223 would be a fair price (since he offered 70 for 700)? I was also looking for prices to ask when I go to the Dixie gun show in Raleigh NC this Saturday... I know I'm gonna get pushed around by vendors over price so I just wanna make sure I know the prices are accurate to our current situation... |

I would probably go a little lower than the top of the market. If there's no handling/shipping involved, I'd probably go for more like $5 / 100, especially if you acquired the brass before the current market conditions existed and you have the brass to spare. Who knows, some day he may return the favor (but don't do it with that expectation). Risking a friendship isn't worth a few extra dollars. There's also nothing wrong with just giving it to him, especially if it's surplus for you.

Well I acquired it all over the past 3 weeks, so no it's all post craziness... And he has 10 ar-15's but unwilling to deal for one, which is what I told him I want...
Thanks for the help guys, not trying to rip anyone off. |

Last price shown at Powder Valley is $80.00/1000, then you would add shipping ($9.95? If that was the only thing ordered). Of course, it is out of stock. The $70 sounds like a good deal for both of you.

Supermech21, .223/5.56 is selling at a much higher price then it has in recent passed. The price is nuts!
I have seen once fired, cleaned, crimp removed 5.56 brass selling for $200 per 1k. If the brass is just clean and not trimmed or military crimp removed I think a far "today price" is $100-$120 per 1k. Just 2 months ago the same sold for $60 per 1k.

Friend bought some 9mm range brass for $30/1000 at the gun show last weekend and the same table had 38sp for $80/1000. Don't know his price on .223 brass. He showed up on Fri night with 20,000 and sold out in an hour.

Back in early November I inquired with a fellow OGCA member, who has sales tables at the shows, about his price and availability of 5.56 and .45 ACP. He quoted me $30/500 on cleaned Winchester 45 and $40/500 for cleaned/deprimed/swagged mixed LC 5.56. He asked me to order around Christmas and pick up at the show first weekend this month.
I emailed him and he kept with the same prices to deliver me 1000 LP Winchester 45s for $60, and 1500 5.56 for $120 - all '08 LC. I was very happy to get both. He politely advised me that the price would be higher next time. Nearly killed myself hauling a 5 gal bucket of brass on the snow covered parking lot. |

I bought 4,000 - 40 S&W nickle platted brass cases this week for $125 including shipping.
.223 cases are hard to find now and they are expensive because NY just banned and Obama is trying to ban AR-15 assault weapons. |

He was in the right shop at the right time!! And I have been setting aside 100 - 200 cases of each caliber I collect for the day that I get dies and weapons to fire them. |
