Will mossberg 500 barrels fit on a mossberg 590?

I just bought a 500 Persuader yesterday,I read the manual first thing and according to Mossberg,the 500 and 590 parts are not interchangable.

590s are made with LEO and military use in mind, doubtfull that a 500 barrel will fit, but you could shell out the cash to find out. But when you can buy a nice mossy 500 12ga feild gun at wallmart for like 179+tax whats the point.
