Cannelure groove question

If a bullet has a cannelure groove, does the bullet HAVE to be seated with the groove to the brass? If the OAL I need is longer, can the groove stick out from the brass?

Lock, Stock and Barrel has some Remington bulk bullets, 55gr. SP w/cannelure groove 100count for $6.

Thanks

Yes, there is no need to have the cannelure line up with the neck. Those bullets are probably made for reloading in semiauto rifles where the brass is usually crimped into the bullet.

I'm guessing you need .224 bullets for a bolt action?
