Attended Silencer Shoot for Prominent Silencer Retailer

Now I like to think of myself, whether it os true or not, as a fairly well-informed shooter who has a lot of rounds downrange and a few stamps. I understand endcap/baffle strikes happen. At the same time, when you are trying to sell me suppressors, I don't want to look down on the gun table and see that about 50% of the suppressors being demoed have endcap strikes. That doesn't make me feel good about paying premium prices for metal tubes with a decent amount of regulatory paperwork associated with their repair.

I wish I'd asked the retailer what their rationale was in using beater suppressors for demo. I guess to keep costs down like anything else. Unfortunately, I didn't wait around to chat with them because I already have plenty of silencers and didn't want to wait in line to ask.
