Swapping New England forend for Remington 870 forend?

Is it possible to swap out the original forend on the New England Pardner Pump 12ga, with the original Remington 870 express 12ga without any modifications?

I've got a friend wanting to put my 870 express pump on his NEF shotgun if possible. Any ideas if this would work?

Yep, slides right on there. I put the hogue forearm and ATI stock from my old 870 on my NEF when I got it.
