Springfield XDS .45

This firearm has really caught my attention

Is this really a pocket pistol if you are wearing cargo shorts?

I read there were some initial problems when it was introduced.
Have all of these issues been resolved?

Love my XDS45 but don't consider it a pocket gun for me. Although I do make quite a few XDS pocket holsters.

Recall is pretty much caught up and any gun at a dealer should have it done. You can tell if it's completed by seeing if there is a roll pin in the grip safety.

I carry mine IWB at 1:00 o'clock(Appendix Carry).

Here are some of the other XDS holster options:

Springfield XDS .45

I got my XDs 45 nine months ago. It went in for the safety recall and came back in fine shape. I carry mine in a Mika pocket holster and it'll fit in the front pocket of my jeans. And that's precisely why I bought it. I wanted 45acp firepower in a pistol compact enough for pocket carry.

Mine was only 96% reliable even after a trip back to sa. Light off center out of battery primer strikes. I'm much happier with my Walther PPS .40 which is 100% reliable.

I love mine, but for me, it's a little too big for a pocket in jeans. cargo shorts pockets, it will fit, but still a little heavy.

IMO, it is at the upper limit of pocket carry. While I've carried mine in a front pocket holster, I certainly prefer a OWB holster and use one about 99% of the time.

I had a XDS 45 briefly. Too heavy for pocket carry. I didnt care for its trigger. The P938 is a ideal pocket gun.

No problems now and if you find the trigger too heavy, a PRP spring kit will make it better for less than $20. I personally don't think it's a pocket gun, but there are people that pocket carry G26s and some have stated being able to pocket carry full size Beretta 92s.

As for weight, it's part of what makes it shootable, especially the 45acp. When carrying, the 21 ounces means absolutely nothing. Accuracy is up there and I'd shoot it with both backstraps to see which one works best.
