Does anyone know were you can still purchase a .454 or .457 bag mold? I was hoping to get one for my field bag. Thanks

You might give Track of the Wolf a call and see if they happen to have one or if they could point you in the right direction. They don't list that size in their catalog but you never know what they might have laying around. Dixie would be another good place to try as well. If no luck, take a look in Muzzle Blasts (National Muzzle Loading Rifle Association magazine) as they might have a listing for a dealer in there as well. Rapine would be another one to check with. Their phone # is 215.679.5413. I believe they were making bag molds at one time and still are?

It was posted on the American Longrifles forum that;
"I heard he just changed his phone no. Worth a try 215-679-6442 Rapine Molds" "Just called, He is still in business, just making molds to order. Making them at a slower pace. But making them. For $2 you can get a catalog from the Rapine Bullet Mould Mfg. Co, 9503 Landis Lane, East Greenville, Pennsylvania 18041, phone 215-679-6442. No more credit cards, "...add $8.50 SHI per item. Add .50 per item ther after...overage...will refund..." I don't precisely follow this either, so what he has a good variety of moulds available." |

If it's not too much trouble, could one of you gentlemen send me a link or picture of one of these. I've looked and so far, have not been able to find what a classic looked like. I have mold sets that I wold like to complete. I thank you for your time. ...

Pahoo,
You're most welcome. How does the Rapine "bag" mold compare to what you have? S&S Firearms, Glendale, NY, has some remaining discontinued Rapine molds for $70 (originally $90-100). I happened to note in my new 2011 Dixie Gun Works catalog, with their loop-handled scissor molds: "We are temporarily out of stock of the Dixie Moulds and apologize for this inconvenience. We are currently working on establishing a new supplier." |

I'll bet there's more than one guy out there who hopes they broke the mould after they made the old bag!
