Car safe in a leased car

There are rare times when I have to leave my carry in the car. I'm in a leased car for the next two years so I can't bolt anything anywhere. Options anyone?

You could always chain a small case to the seat,,,

It would be a bit clumsy but I have seen people do this before.

But I would just bolt it to the floorboard anyways,,,
Then just not tell them about the holes when you turn it in.

But that's just me,,,

I have this for my car:

http://www.cabelas.com/product/Shoot...safe%20cabelas

I wrap the cable around the base of the driver seat. Fits my 1911 and mags perfectly. Security is ok, anyone that breaks in either won't see it or not want to take the time to open it. Cable is steel so they would need cutters to cut it.

Sometimes you can find this same safe at Walmart, but any sporting goods store should have it.

Looks like Amazon has it: http://www.amazon.com/Nano-Vault-Gun...ef=pd_sbs_sg_6

If you have prime membership with Amazon shipping is free.

My other complaint is that initially the case smells really funny cuz of the foam. Just air the foam out, it'll be fine.

You can if you return the area worked on to original or very near original condition. A couple of small bolts into the carpet will likely go unnoticed.

On the other hand if they DO notice they could try to bill her for repairs to the floor.

I have a safe bolted to my truck floor, it is preferable to me. We have one of the portable ones linked above with the cable for my wife's truck. It seems to work fine and you have the option of using it elsewhere if you need to.

Okay thanks. All things said and done, I'll probably go with the safe I can wrap around my seat or something else stationary in the car with the wire. I don't own a drill and I have no idea what's on the other side of any given panel in my car. Good to know your limits.

That's why you drill the holes. Didn't anyone ever tell you that experience is the best teacher?

Seriously though, I use a .30 cal ammo can with a homemade ammo can lock, and a pair of handcuffs to hold it to the seat frame. Good luck getting it out, I have a hard enough time and I know just how to hold my mouth right to get it to work.

I use a Gunvault Microvault but you should go to Center-of-Mass and see their other security safes/ The Gunvault comes with a cable to secure it to your seat legs.

You can use the Microvault for air travel as well.
