Too Much Powder in 9mm reload

I inadvertantly loaded about 7.8 grains of Accurate 7 powder when using a 147 gr JHP bullet. The maximum load per the schedule provided with my Lee Progressive loader is 7.2 grains.

I know this is a problem, but should I just get rid of the batch or are they maybe usable. I most likely would use the ammo in my Bersa Thunder 9, 9mm pistol.

Any advice would be welcome.

Thanks in advance.

When reloading I always use two sources for the load data.

How many cartridges did you over-load?

They definitely should not be fired, and they are too expensive to throw away. You have two choices to disassemble the cartridges, use a kinetic puller or a collet puller.

My choice would be the collet puller if the numbers are large.

Invest in a Kinetic Puller and pull them down. Re-use the bullets and primed cases, just put in a little less powder.

Pull 'em. It's a nuisance, but not as much of one as damaging your pistol.
Kinetic Puller's aren't expensive. They work, albeit not quickly. A Mk I rock about the size of a cantalope mellon(Ok a human brain shaped rock) with one flatish side is the best thing to whack them on. Wood is too soft. So is a carpeted floor. Concrete doesn't seem to work as well as a rock. I think it's the density. A rock is free for the picking too.

Or, you could shoot them through a Glock, or any other quality semi-auto! Find out what the max +p 9mm load is for AA#7, and, if you're not more than a coupla tenths of grains over that, then you'll be fine. I wouldn't say shoot 'em through a Bersa or Lorcin, but, as I said, any quality 9mm handgun will probably handle them just fine.

Oh, before somebody chimes in that "he's not using +p brass," the only difference in 9mm +p brass and "standard" 9mm brass is the writing on the headstamp.

Thanks for all the helpful information. I am new to reloading and I am sure I will be able to use the bullet pulling tool some other time as well.
