Recoil pad for Ithaca 37 featherlight 20 gauge?

Bought the Ithaca 37 today , and now for the 10 day waiting period.

Brother loves the way it handles but still thinks the recoil will be scary so he'd prefer a rubber recoil pad instead of a metal butt plate.

So what recoil pad do you guys recommend for this gun?

Since I have to install it for him, I'd prefer something that requires minimal fitting.

Thanks in advance

I've installed several recoil pads on some of my rifles and shotguns over the years. My personal favorite is the Pachmayr Decelerator. The pads I used required 1) shortening the stock to fit me properly with pad added, and 2) fitting/shaping/sanding the pad to merge with the contours of the stock. Care is required to avoid dinging the stock when filing/sanding on the recoil pad.
