Civil War Ancestory
A bit off topic so please excuse. Once someone posted the link to a database in this area that contained a list of names of participants in the War of Northern Agression. As I recall, it was broken down by Union/Confederate by state. My wife is pursuing a family tree and that information would be most useful. If you have a handy (free) site it would be appreciated. My Google skills can't seem to hit on that site. Thanks in advance.

Try: www.civilwarroster.com or google - civil war rosters by state. Heck, just go to your search engine and type in civil war rosters. You'll get a lot of responses.

Lots of sources, really, for information on individuals who participated in the War of Southern Stupidity.
If you know the state from which your ancestor came, or in whose units he served, the state historical societies often have online lists. You may have to pay, though.
