I strongly suggest you have that rifle checked over by an experienced gunsmith before spending money on it. The last one I saw with the stock cracked like that had blown a case head and that broke the stock, bent the rails, blew out the extractor and ruined the magazine. I notice your magazine looks like new while the rest of the rifle is rusted, so I can't help but wonder...

Help W/Enfield ID

Thanks for all the info and the possible cause of the broken stock. It does look like a unusual place for a stock to break? I'll take it to my long time (40yr) LGS and ask what they think would break a stock like that.
