An unloaded gun is a stick. What good do they do if not loaded?

My son is six and I've already started him shooting. He doesn't bother a gun unless he asks to see it first.

With that said, my shotgun and a .45ACP do stay loaded, but in the gun safe. I have double deadbolt doors and an Australian Shepard. Both SHOULD make enough noise to awaken me or my wife if anyone should try to enter illegally. However, I DO NOT feel that the time to load my weapon is when someone might be trying to break down my door.

As for the optics, mine isn't strictly HD. It rides to work and back in my Jeep, and I use it occasionally in matches. Plus, it is a see-through mount and I have a hi-viz bead on the barrel.
