I want to mount a scope on a Husquvarna 1000 super grade. It has a stepped reciever. (ie: the front reciever ring is larger than the rear causing the rear to be lower than the front) It also has the original Mauser 96 bolt and safety. (3 position right on, vertical half, left fire) This safety system will interfere with typical scope mounting.
I do NOT want to modify the bolt or safety to accomodate scope mounting.
I do NOT want to "scoutify" the rifle.
I do NOT want a mount so high that my cheek is off the stock.

Did Husquvarna have a proprietary scope mount for this action?
Is there a US based Husky collector's association? Address??
Does anyone have an address for the "old" US importer?

DRenn, I beleive you'll find you will have to compromise somewhere. Either use high rings or change to a low scope safety. With low rings and the standard safety there isn't enough room to get your thumb in and operate the safety. When you buy a pair of bases they will compensate for the "step". I don't know of Husky making any scope mounts. George
