Magazine pin

Hello all.
I have a 1939 98K take home (all German) my dad willed to me. The magazine floor plate release button is missing on an extra magazine. I ordered one but it does not come with the capture pin. Is this available somewhere? Is it a tapered pin?
I measured it with sae drill bits as pin gages and a 3mm x 10mm split pin should the job but I'd like to keep it period as much as possible.

The floor plate release button pin is a solid pin.

Most any Model 98 Mauser version will fit or you can use a piece of drill rod.
