Looking for land to lease in SE Ga / NE Fl

Hello everyone,
Well the hunting season came to a close today here in Florida and a friend an my self are looking for a club to join for next season. We both live in Jacksonville Florida and we dont want to travel farther than 1 1/2 hrs to get to the club. Neither of us dog hunt so we would prefer a place that doesn't allow it. We would like to find a place in southern Georgia or very north Florida. So if anyone knows of or has land that they are willing to lease or knows someone looking to fill some spots in there club roster please let me know.
Thanks,
~Chris

I'd take a look at how much out of state licenses cost. You may decide to stay in NOFL.

As for hunting dogs. I have no qualms with shooting a 'yote. (J/K, I assume you mean birding? You may find that watching others hunt with dogs is extremely enjoyable and addicting.)

What kind of hunting are you interested in?

Stitch I'm also in Jacksonville and had a lot of fun hunting in 12 Mile Swamp this year. From my driveway in Arlington to the WMA gates on World Gold Village Parkway (a.k.a. 9 mile road) is only 30 minutes.

It is one of those special use permit WMA's - - I think it was $425 last year.

LOL I ment hunting deer / hogs with a dog not hunting coyotes LOL
Either way I shoot them ( coyotes) on sight.

john in jax: WMA is a last resort for me. I really want a private club, know what I mean? I feel alot safer hunting with someone that I know.

That's not looked kindly upon 'round des parts. E'ther the game warden is upset (hunting deer with dogs); or the dogs are upset (hunting hogs with dogs.)

I do not like green eggs and ham.

Look for "Woods 'N Water" magazine. All manner of articles on hunting and fishing in Ga/Fla, and land for lease, land for sale, hunt clubs, all that stuff.

I have looked in those in the past and there were nothing but "high dollar" clubs. I want something simple and reasonably priced and I would like to deal with a land owner rather than a land management service.

Rather than keep bumping your thread, why don't you go out and find some land owners, and talk to them. Scoot out US 90 towards Lake City. Stop at some of the small stores in Baldwin, McClenny or Olustee. Talk to some locals, and you might well find some decent hunting.
Osceola National Forest is not bad, nor is the Lake Butler area.
