Inexpensive 30 carbine bullets

Hello,

I have been shooting up all of the Aquila ammo that I bought along with my carbines from the CMP. I've reloaded some Hornady SP's but I would love to find a source for some cheap FMJ's, much like the Privi's that Weidner sells for .223 and 308 rifles. Any suggestions? Have any of you shot cast through your carbines? Does it foul the ports? Thanks.

Check out Berrys Bullets in Utah. They sell a plated jacket bullet for use in the M1 Carbine.

The Berry's bullet is the ticket. This bullet is rated to 1,950 FPS. I use them to great effect in my .30 Carbine Ruger Blackhawk... even out to 100 yards from my 7.5" barreled revolver.

I would personally be afraid of cast lead mucking up the gas port in a Carbine, but I'm no expert on Carbines.

Thanks. I see that PV has the Hornady's for $82/500 and the Berry's for $55/500. I have only tried Berry's in my 9mm's, both have polygonal barrels and they have not been very accurate. I think I will try some in the carbine and buy the Hornady's just in case they don't work well. Thanks again.
