Load for 45 Colt (265g)
I'm looking for load data for a moderate load for a 45 Colt Keith type 265 grain LSWC using Trail Boss. I'll be shooting a Ruger Bisley Vaquero.
Thanks in advance for your comments. |

Hey! I was born in Richland! Cool.
I use 6 grains of Trail Boss with a 250gr. (Hodgdon manual) You should be good with that even though your 15 grains heavier. One of the great things about Trail Boss is it is VERY forgiving / flexible. Because of the load density, (or lack thereof) some folks say you can just about fill the brass to the base of the bullet and still be ok with that stuff. I love Trail Boss! You will too. DArren |

Vaquero 45
What sort of velocity do you hope to acheive? I've run a lot of different ammo components through my .45 but never used Trailboss. Let me know how you like it. Are you casting your own bullets? My favorite powders for .45 Colt are, from fastest to slowest: Titegroup, Unique, HS-7, AA-9. But since I'm a sucker for good deals I use a lot of others also.

Velocity
I'd be very happy to get 650-700 FPS.
